MINDit™ creatively and powerfully applies the science of mental well-being, we call ‘mind health’, into the everyday world of our interpersonal interactions, whether at work or within our personal worlds. It will influence everything we are and do including, but not limited to our: physical (behavioural) and thought responses, communications, decision-making, mental and emotional strength, problem solving, adaptability, leadership and team integration.
MINDit™ has proven to work beyond training individuals and and groups and providing tools to build resilience but rather, MINDit™ changes the brain in situ. Research-based evidence provides us with insight and techniques which are available now to train and rewire the brain through techniques which decrease or increase particular neuronal firing pathways we need to affect positive lasting change. This ensures even the most unexpected stressors will be responded to with an internal strength already activated. Individuals confronted with high levels of chronic or acute stressors, disruption or challenging behaviours can develop an inner strength and self-response that will protect and support them to flourish rather than merely survive.
The Story Behind MINDit™
From the moment we are born through to our last moments, we are shaped, guided and moulded, individually and as groups (e.g. families, friends, work team, social networks, etc). We learn to ‘mind our words’; ‘mind our manners’; ‘mind our steps’; ‘mind our behaviours’; ‘mind our friends’, etc. One of our earliest memories may even be our parents or primary caregiver telling us “mind out”…“careful”…“watch what you’re doing”. These may have been warnings to draw our attention to risk or they may merely have been encouraging us to focus and pay more particular attention.
So, walking down the street one day there was a footpath warning and a memory of a visit to the London Tube flashed into mind: “Mind the Gap”. My mind went straight back to the brain training long ago to take careful or mindful steps. At this point, MINDit™ was brought to life, fully activated and integrated into my brain, and Mind-it-ready!
Informed and built on the applied principles of multiple disciplines from Social Anthropology to Positive Psychology through to Neuroscience, MINDit™ recognises that modern brain research has given us evidence of neuroplasticity and more importantly, evidence continues to grow on the positive effects of neuroplasticity when we mind it and focus particular attention to influence. Increasingly we understand how we can cause our mind to change the structure of our brain – and therefore, our responses throughout our lifetime.
Our brain and mind ARE in our control! Therefore, it is critical that we learn to understand and control our mind which is continually shaping our brain within us and our interpersonal relationships around us.
